The Embracism Project

Recently, I’ve been working with a team on developing a schools package for teachers and students to try and discourage racism in the classroom and schoolgrounds. For this, first we developed a slogan, “Stop racism, start embracism”. It seemed to get positive initial feedback onĀ amirite.net. With that decided, the next step was to create the message. What you see above is the end result of two month’s hard work, I hope you enjoy it, and remember to spread the word #embracism!

We shall be developing our online presense further by making a Facebook group and twitter once all the videos are up, so hopefully we can actually get this message off the ground. Ultimately we want the Embracism Project to be a collection of films, messages, people, music, all trying to encourage a new conversation about race in today’s complex world, and make that conversation as informed as possible.

Film produced by Mark Starmach and Emerson Sunardi, 2010. Special thanks to Greg Noble, Michael Michell, Alin Leung, Ben Montague.
